Clarification need - Last entery to USA

Hi,

I entered USA 28th March '08 and got I-94 & admitted stamping on my passport.
After 5 months, I travelled Bahamas for 2 days visit on 30th Aug '08 and returned back to USA on 1st Sep '08. But that time I did not get admitted stamping on my passport also immigration officer said that I can use my last I-94 (that I got on 28th March '08 entry).

Now my question is Which one is my last entry date to USA i.e., 28th March '08 or 1st Sep '08.

My actual last entry date to USA is 1st Sep '08. But I dont have any proof/record on my passport for this (no admitted stamping or I-94 for this date).

Could you pls clarify this?

I would say the I-94 that you have determines your entry date as you did not return the I-94 when you left and never got a new one at entry again.
