Does your current A-number changes when I-140 is approved?

Hi all,

I am filling forms for AOS. Many of my friends say that I should get a new A-number with approved I-140. However, in the I-797 approval notice I don't see a new A-number. Should I be worried?

A# is just a small part of the process.
No need to be worried. Did you ever receive an A# previously (on any forms) ? If yes, list it.
If you do not have one on the I-797, leave this field blank.

That will work. If there was never an A#, then they would create one for you.
If you have your OPT A#, its most likely it will be the same number on your greencard (when issued)
