I want to sponsor my 80 years old mother for a green card. I am a US citizen.
Few questions:
1) What documents do I need for filing? I read about I-130 requirements-
- A completed Form I-130;
- A copy of YOUR birth certificate; and
- Evidence that you are a U.S. citizen.
Any other documents, I need?
2) Do I need any medical reports for her?
3) If I file for her when she is in the USA, can she travel back to India and come back to the USA during the filing process. Or does she need to stay in the USA for the entire time? How long does the process take? An estimate of the timeline is appreciated.
4) Form I-485- Adjustment of status. Can this be filed concurrently with I-130 or do I need to wait for filing it?
5) Lastly, do I need an immigration lawyer for this filing process? If yes, what would be a reasonable cost for such cases?
