borders immigration procedures- airports

I am new to this forum but i need help urgently. i have an immigrant visa and soon i will be in the USA, but my flight is from toronto to ohio CMH airport, i've been told that this airport does not have an immigration office so i can not land there because regular arrival procedures are not done in this airport, but it seems not logical to me, does anybody know about that , should i have to change my flight to another state ?

Get to the airport in Toronto early, because they will process you there. US immigration has pre-clearance facilities in Toronto, so just after you go through Canadian security, you will go through US immigration.
