Adjustment of Status in US while on B2 status

Hi there, I have a quick question regarding adjustment of status after family based immigration petition is approved. The NVC just approved the case for further processing. I am in Pakistan currently and was planning to go to US on Visit Visa next week. Should I keep my plans and travel to US on B2 visa. And while in US file the application with USCIS to adjust my status. Is it possible? if so how long would it take to adjust the status in US. Thanks,

1. Well, you can travel to the US just with the tourism in mind. However, if you change your mind later to file adjustment of status, that is OK.
