  • Immigration for my adopted son

    Hello,

I am 50 year old guy and I have good motel business, my 2 sons cheated me and ran away with lot of money. I am a green card holder.

Now, I wish to adopt a son who has been helping me all this years and who I trust and believe will take care of me, he is 26 years old, please suggest how do I call him US.

    Thanks so much.

    Mohit,

You can adopt him by the laws in force in the country where he currently lives. I don't know about adoption requirements in India, but this can be done in the U.S.

Unfortunately, however, you cannot obtain immigrant or U.S. citizenship status for him as a result of the adoption because he is past the age (14 or 16) that would allow a petitionable relationship.
