Hello everyone,
Recently, I found out that I was selected for further processing in the Diversity Visa (Green Card Lottery). However, I currently hold an F1 Visa and I plan to return to the United States in August. My concern is that I'll have issues with re-entering the country if it is discovered that I have began the consular processing. I read somewhere that applying for an immigrant visa could be considered a violation of the F1 Visa, since it implies intentions of immigration. I already sent in the DS 260. I do not expect to get an interview until some time next year and I absolutely need to return to the U.S. since school starts in August. Do I risk losing my F1 visa? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
