Hi all,
My wife and two kids went for their immigrant visa interview in the Netherlands a week ago. This is for the I-730 petition (asylee family petition). After the interview their passports were returned. She asked the consular officer if it meant that they have been denied visas, but he replied and said no. He however retained our marriage certificate and one of the birth certificates of the kids. He just said the embassy will communicate with them. This was a week ago. We have still not heard from them. One of my kids does not have a passport. But we had done DNA testing, and we also have his birth certificate. His birth certificate was retained. What does this mean? Is it normal for passports to be returned after interviews? We are worried. A week is too much for no initial response. Thank you so much for your responses.
