Hi so this is my first time posting here and I really do hope I get helpful answers
Let me give a quick background: I am a 20 year old from the Philippines. I will be turning 21 in February 2015. My dad is a naturalized US Citizen and he filed an I-130 petition for me early this year (Feb 2014) now he just recently completed collecting the necessary documents such as the affidavit of support, tax returns, certificate of employment, etc. and sent it to the NVC (September 2014) I understand that the next step would be the interview and that NVC is asking 60 days to review submitted documents. These are my questions:
1.) About my age, children are those who are below 21 years old and I'm pretty sure I won't be getting my visa in 3 months time (in time for my 21st birthday), will I not age out? I've read about the CSPA though but does that automatically apply?
2.) Does the NVC usually follow the 60 day period they are asking for review of documents or does it take more than 60 days?
3.) What kind of communication should we expect to get from the NVC? Will they already reply with a specific date for interview?
4.) I've read about having to wait for an interview schedule to be available, is that true or does the NVC set a date for that?
5.) I have not asked my dad though but considering that he knows about the 60 day period for review of documents, he probably received some sort of communication from the NVC about them receiving the documents? How will we know that the documents are being reviewed already?
6.) Is the RFE only sent if the NVC is not satisfied with the submitted documents?
7.) What is a checklist and is it sent to every petitioner or does it only apply to those who have lacking documents?
8.) How long is the wait for the visa to arrive after the interview? Average months please?
I really wanna go to America already
Hope you guys can help! Thank you so much
