  • I look forward to reading from you Ray.

Hey Ray, how are you? I have had so much about your site and gone through it and could see the marvellous job you are doing in here. Kudos Ray!

My situation is; My father(US citizen) had long ago filed an immigrant visa(preference category: F1) on my behave when I was still very younger. I will be 32 by January and a uni graduate since 2011. I have a baby in 2012 but out of wedlock although wedding plans are seriously on the way for next year. My petition has been approved and my visa interview date is January 29th, 2015.

    Ray what can I do?

Does this meaning I can attend the interview with my baby?

Can my baby also be granted a visa because non to drop my baby for to watch over her while I travel to the states?

Do you suggest we suspend all wedding plans?

What do you suggest we do as regards my fiancé?

    Rhodda,

This is not my website or forum. I am just a visitor like you.

Your child is eligible for a derivative visa and should have his own passport and should accompany you to your interview.

Do not marry until after you have received your Green Care and are in the U.S.

Oh thank you Ray. I'm really grateful for the info you just supplied me.

In your last paragraph, you said I should get my green card first before wedding could you please throw more light on that?

Does it mean that I will have to come back for my wedding or my fiancé will come over the US.

      Thanks!

If you marry before you have your immigrant visa, your visa class changes and may render you ineligible for the visa. After you are in the U.S., it's not an issue and you can then marry and petition your new husband.

Thanks Ray, I now have a clear picture if what you are saying.

But it can take like how long (months or years) for me to petition my fiancé?

          Cheers!

It depends on your country. I've been answering this same question from another poster from Nigeria.

Count on at least a 4-year difference.

              Alright!!

My daughter bears my fiancé last name in her birth cert, will the USCIS issue her green card separately with my fiancé's last name and her name or she gonna be on my green card?

Your daughter will get her own visa, and eventually get her own Green Card, in her own legal name.
