Nvc - case number

Hi ,
My husband is a US citizen and i'm from India and he has filed i-130 for me . After 6 months of waiting we got the approval and when I checked the status with my receipt number; it is written that my case has been moved for visa processing on 3,Dec 2014.
When will i get my case number or should i call the nvc and ask for the case number?
Will they send any letter to fill out the affidavit of support and for filling out DS-260 online? My case is been in Nebraska visa center. please do help me with the doubts.

Both you and your husband should receive NVC initial correspondence within next 6 weeks. NVC is very slow right now.

Yes, you can call the NVC at: (603) 334-0700

You can expect, however, correspondence from the NVC to reach you and your husband (separately) within next couple of weeks.

Q. have u ever been unlawfully present "overstayed" the amount of time granted by an immigration officer or otherwise violated the terms of a US Visa..............


since i OVERSTAYED so obviously my answer is YES, " but how do i EXPLAIN it? " i am preparing myself for "Expanded Provisional Waiver" which i am eligible.....i would be needing some help too in the near future of how to prepare well the "Extreme Hardship Waiver"

hope some one in this forum can guide me well........i will appreciate all kind of help and advise, thanks in advance

When you receive correspondence from the NVC, you will have to pay two fees, $120 and $325, after which you will submit sponsorship and civil documents the NVC.

Need some help and guidance to start my visa.

Hello everyone I need some help on the route I should be going with my visa before I submit anything. First I got married in cololmbia to my wife, and I am an american citizen. Do I file the I-130 and when I get notified that it was accepted turn in a I-129F? I talked to some lawyer he said that would make the process go faster to get my spouse here. So its 420 for I-130 and 340 for the I-129F for a rapid speed to get my spouse here?

I'm confused as to who qualify under the CCA. I'm a US citizen from Grenada filing for my two sons who are currently in Grenada - both are under 18 and have never been to the US. I paid the $120 AOS fee and was directed to option 4 of the six steps (confuse why it instructed me to skip option 3 for now). After reviewing all the possible AOS forms, the one that best suits my case says "You are a US citizen filing for a natural or adopted child, not including a step child, who is under the age of 18." But, the available form for that option is an I-864W which seems to suggest that I'm exempt from the AOS and that my boys would become citizens upon entry to the US? Yet, even the instructions for qualifying under the CCA appear ambiguous as it appears to imply the children needed to already be here. Some clarification would be surely appreciated.

You are receiving wrong information from the attorney:

1. The I-129F for a K3 visa option is no longer being used by USCIS. It will be accepted by USCIS, then ignored in favor of the I-130.
2. There is no fee for using the I-129F for a K3, ITS SUBMITTAL IS FREE. The only $340 fee is if used for a fiancee ( K1) visa.

The National Visa Center (NVC) and/or the processing Embassy will "sometimes" request that a U.S. citizen parent proceed with using the I-864W if it is obvious that the child will be eligible for derived citizenship (from the parent) after arriving in the U.S. This generally applies to children whose derived citizenship couldn't be recognized abroad because the parent did not have sufficient tenure as being naturalized or because the child's birth was not reported to the U.S. Embassy.

My advice is to proceed with the I-864 unless specifically told by the NVC to use the I-864W. Once in he U.S. with a Green Card (PR status), you can then apply for the child's U.S. passport and/or Citizenship Certificate.
