NVC Supporting Documents

Does anyone know if the petitioner needs a US passport? My husband only has an enhanced drivers license...no passport at the moment.

I know the beneficiary does, but the petitioner needs the birth certificate, naturalization document or passport. Meaning that if you have your US birth certificate is okay , but if you have a passport you can submit it,but not necessary.

Thanks so much for your help! Regarding the beneificary's passport, is it okay if i send a copy in of the passport i have now (with my maiden name), but then bring a new one with me with my married name once i go to Montreal?
