I married my US citizen husband in Canada last year in 2014.
I have a home and job here in Canada and was hoping to wrap up things in Canada before going on our honeymoon oversees and then applying for my immigration from the US.
Our honeymoon is booked and i transit through the US to go oversea's.
I have now been informed that if my husband submits my immigration paperwork, I cannot travel to the US even to transit through the airport. Is this true?
Can I show that I have an itinerary to travel back to Canada?
Also, we are getting mixed information, I was originally informed that as a canadian citizen I do not need a visa to enter USA but as long as I enter legally (through a port of entry and pass customs), I can stay in the US and then apply for my paperwork.
Now I have heard from others that I should remain in Canada and apply, and that I cannot see my husband in the US or travel for our honeymoon which transits through the US.
Why is this so difficult, I am a canadian citizen and it shouldnt be so complicated.
