  • I-130 : Welcome Letter Steps#1-6?

Hi, I applied for my parents I-130.

Got a 'Welcome Letter' from NVC which states:

    Step 1. Choose an agent
    Step 2. Pay fees
Step 3. Submit visa application form
    Step 4. Collect financial documents
    Step 5. Collect supporting documents
Step 6. Submit documents to the NVC

Q#1: At this stage when I am submitting DS-261 [Step#1], Should I submit the AOS Fee [Step#2] as well or I have to wait till NVC asks for this?
Q#2: When I will have to submit Visa Application & the rest of the Steps#4-6? Will I be notified to do so or I have to do all this right now?
Q#3: My Parents have Visit Visa, they intend to come US. Is it okay to come while their I-130 is in progress?
Q#4: If they are here, is there any way that they don't have to go back for their Visa Interview at home country's US Embassy?
Q#5: The Supporting Document's lists asked should be copies and not originals?

    Thanks!

PAY THE AOS FEE WHEN HER NVC PAGE GIVES YOU ACCESS TO PAY IT.

Q#2: When I will have to submit Visa Application & the rest of the Steps#4-6? Will I be notified to do so or I have to do all this right now?

SUBMIT THE AOS AND CIVIL DOCUMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE THE COVER PAGE LISTING ALL THE DOCUMENTS.

Q#3: My Parents have Visit Visa, they intend to come US. Is it okay to come while their I-130 is in progress?

YES IF THEY ARE ALLOWED PAST THE PORT OF ENTRY.

Q#4: If they are here, is there any way that they don't have to go back for their Visa Interview at home country's US Embassy?

ONCE THEY GET IN, YOU CAN SWITCH PROCESSING TO DO AN ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS IN THE U.S.

Q#5: The Supporting Document's lists asked should be copies and not originals?

IT DEPENDS ON WHICH COUNTRY THEY ARE FROM. FOR SOME COUNTRIES, SCANNED COPIES ARE NOT BEING ACCEPTED AND THE CERTIFIED ARE TAKEN TO THE INTERVIEWS. FOR OTHER COUNTRIES, THE CERTIFIED MUST BE POSTAL MAILED TO THE NVC.

    Thanks!

      Adjustment of status

      Hi Rayb,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. I have another question:

ONCE THEY GET IN, HOW CAN I SWITCH PROCESSING TO DO AN ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS IN THE U.S.? Is there any particular Form for this purpose?

      Thanks!
