  • NVC 60 days period over

    Hello,

I need help regarding my husband's case. Our 60 days period was over on March 15th, 2015 and I still have not received any correspondence from NVC. I called twice and both times I got a different answer. I was told that my marriage certificate in our native language was missing, so I told the operator that we had sent in everything and that if I should send the document again. She advised me that NVC has a habit of doing this, and that she will put in a request to have them review my documents again. She told me not to send in the document again and did not give me a processing time.

When I called in again the operator told me that if they review my documents again that will take up to 42 days and when I asked her if I should send the document again she said that it will take 60 additional days.

I am so confused what to do at this point, I have not received any letter from NVC asking for the document and don't know whether or not I should send the document again?

Did anyone else face a similar situation? I really hope this does not delay our process any longer

    Please help!!!

I am on the same boat as you. I did not get any letter notification from them either. I have called them and found out on March 21st, 2015 that I am missing original native language marriage certificate. I have mailed the marriage certificate again to them with scan date of March 23, 2015 just to be safe after talking to the NVC phone representative. I guess I have to wait another 60 days at this point (not so happy about it). Please keep posted if you have any update from them? Thank you!

It really sucks not having a clear answer/communication with them. I am stuck in the middle because of what they have told me over the phone. No idea what will happen next or how long the whole process will take now. My husband and I had travel plans due to a wedding and now everything is just in the air because of this, we don't want to book anything until his interview is scheduled and at this point we don't know when that will be.

I sure will let you know of any updates! You please do the same as well.

Good luck to you and your partner!

Its really very disappointing. we are waiting for upgrade as my wife is citizen now and we applied on green card. Its been 3 months now since we sent them citizen documents to upgrade our case but whenever we call them they always says they do not have documents yet. don't know where the docs gone. Really upset from them.

I am in the same boat. On April 27th, we were told 60 days. Then we got a letter stating that they needed some documents translated from Turkish to English. These were sent to them right away and were received on June 16th. At that time I was told 30 days is needed for them to review. I called back on July 17th and they said that they have not been reviewed yet and will be requesting that a supervisor review the documents. At this time, I was told that it takes an average of 42 days for this review to take place. I have called back once a week since and have been getting the same answer. August 28th will be 42 days. Hopefully they will have it reviewed by then and we can get an interview date scheduled. It is really hard starting a marriage and not knowing when your husband will be able to come to the states.
