NVC Case Processing from Canada

I am Canadian and my wife is American, we currently live in Montreal, Canada. She submitted ad an I-130 form and it was approved on April 6th, but we have still not heard from the NVC. I have a few questions regarding NVC processing:

1.How long should I wait before contacting the NVC/will it help if I call them?

2.After the case is opened, how long does it take to submit documents and get an interview at a US consulate?

3.How will changing my address within Canada affect the application?

4.Can I travel to the US while I am waiting for the process to be completed?

I live in Toronto with my wife who is American we started the process it in early July 2014 and I gave my interview June 10,2015,I suggest you should have the paper ready and try not to give nvc any chance to ask you for more document, my interview went fine but they still want me to provide my original birth certificate which was given but a translated copy.. Anyways it's now with consulate officer to review.

- standard that I have seen for last one year is 4 to 6 weeks to hear from thr original date when you received your approval.

2.After the case is opened, how long does it take to submit documents and get an interview at a US consulate?

- get all the document original not copies ready for you to send.Use the travel.state.gov it's thr best site that will guide you step by step

3.How will changing my address within Canada affect the application?

If you want to change you should request but I suggest.keeping one address as you have to provide canadian police certificate but do what you think it's required...you can also call the nvc number and you wife can request an address change...no issue here

4.Can I travel to the US while I am waiting for the process to be completed?

Yes, as long as you are a visitor and would return back...
