My father is a US citizen who applied for F3 immigration petition for me and family in 2003.
I have received mail from US embassy last year that our petition date is now current and the process is to be started.
My father filed for our petition decade ago just because to give us a option in future if we want to immigrate to US. But after a decade I and my family feel that we are happy in India and well settled. Hence we do not want to immigrate.
Now my questions are:
1. So i need to inform US embassy if i do not want to immigrate?
2. Two years ago I and my wife wanted to visit US to attend my niece wedding but we were denied VISITOR VISA stating that as our petition is about to come, we cannot give you Visitor visa. So i want to ask if we let go our immigration visa , can we ever get visitor visa in future if we just want to visit our family and friends in US for short duration?
