  • Supervisor review at NVC

NVC received my DS-260 on April 27th and was notified in June that they needed some of the documents translated. I got this over to them ASAP. I called to verify that they received the documents and was told that it was received on June 16 and that they needed 30 days to review. I called back on July 17 to find out the status and was told that the documents have not been reviewed yet and they were going to request that a supervisor reviews the documents since it was not done within the 30 days. I called back on July 24 and was told that it still has not been reviewed and that it takes an average of 42 days for a supervisor to review.

Has anyone else gone through this and if you have did it really take 42 days?

My case was put into supervisor review, when the 42 days passed by and when I called back they told me documents are still pending review. they started another supervisor review and I was told that takes another 42 days.

    is very frustrating.

there are 2 more weeks until the second supervisor review reaches its time period and so far I have not receieved confirmation in email that my papers have been reviewed.

Have you had any completion yet? I was also escalated on august 25th. This after they failed to meet their 30 business days deadline. In month 5 now at nvc. I wonder if they really did put you forward for supervisor review first time. I read about others, they been told its going to get escalated and when they ring back its not been done. I can tell you it took over a full month for them to email me checklist. Yes, a full month! I only knew they lost my birth certificate because I rung them.

        Hi there,

Do you have any updates about your situation? We have had almost the exact situation as you. We received a checklist on July 1 and NVC confirmed receipt of the correction on July 13 with a 30-day processing period. Called back on August 14; the man I spoke to told me to wait 15 more days since they're so saturated it may just be taking longer and to call back if I still heard nothing by the end of August. Called back on September 1 and could not get past the "Please call again later [CLICK]" automated hang-up message all day long. Finally got through on September 2, was told that they would elevate it to a supervisor and would take 42 more days.

I asked the woman I spoke to if she could guarantee that it would really be 42 days. Since they originally said 30, how could I know for sure if it would be 42 this time? The woman actually told me: "There are no guarantees in life."

It has been agonizing being separated from my husband without any real idea of when we will hear something, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any updates about whether it really does take 42 days or more. Any more info would be much appreciated!

Any updates? We are about halfway through our 42 days and would hate to hear that we will have to wait ANOTHER 42. I hope you finally moved forward!

            Hi Andorra

I am still waiting . Original scan date 4th and 21st of May. Delayed initial review escalated to supervisor and checklisted 6th of July. I rung NVC and found out about this 10th of July. Sent new birth certificate which arrived 14th of July. Email (checklist) about missing birth certificate did not arrive until 7th of August Since then nothing has happened, Was yet again escalated to super visor review despite a supervisor already dealing with it on the 25th of August. My agency's attorneys are now dealing with it, since two months ago but still no joy. We are in month 7 at NVC waiting for my work visa. EB 3 category.

I really hope you get an answer as we are also in the same boat. I just called again today as we have als so were sent to a supervisor and have not heard back. The person I got today gave me really strange information and she says in their system the form DS261 where you pick an agent is showing as not completed. This was the very first thing completed inour case and we did receive an email showing it was completed, but she swears there was a computer glich and all day she has been receiving cases like this. She had me resubmit it again and said to call back in 2 day to ensure it went through. She stated that was the only thing holding up our case and she was sending another note to the supervisor to let them know what is going on and that we are ready for our appointment date. I will let you know what happens in a few days when I call back again.

If you get your supervisor review please let us know as well.

I called on August 7th which was the due date of second supervisor review and there is still no progress. So frustrating.
i discussed with an immigration lawyer and the only advice he gave me was to continue calling and checking on the status.

i just wish they could at least tell me if someone started looking at my documents or is just waiting to b looked at. Unbelievable 😓😓

Finally got email with application completed

                      Hi everyone,
we finally got email from NVC telling us that the application has been completed and we now need to wait for interview date from the embassy.

it took over 6 months !

I know lots of people in a similar situation. my advice is to keep calling nvc and don't wait for the 30 days to be over or the next 42 days of supervisor review or the next 42 days for the second supervisor review.

only after the second 42 days of supervisor review was over I kept calling them at least twice a day two times per week asking on the status and asking to speak to a supervisor.

usually they will tell me that no supervisor is available and If I will like them to call me back. well, I had requested call backs maybe like 5 times and they never called me back.

if you keep calling, you will eventually get to a supervisor and they can get things moving.

Don't lose your cool with the operators. they really don't know but to look at the screen and read the status to you. there are many of these operators that are very rude and I even got a few times hanged up because I keep trying to get more information from them. they get rated by the amount of calls they answer per shift I guess. many of them lost sight of the affect that we are facing due to our families being separated.

anyway, my advise is to keep calling, don't lose your cool, and don't take it personally with the operators. you will be mostly affected and they wont even remember your call.

we are now waiting for interview date and hopefully this will happen soon.

                      all the best to everyone
