Hello,
Its been 4 years since my wife started her H1 visa application. Finally on September 23rd our I-140 was approved.We recieved a form called I-797/Notice of Action.
We were told by the lawyer we need to choose consular interview since I accepted illegal employment while in the US.He told us now that National Visa Center is going to send us (Packet 3 and Fee Bill )some kind of forms to fill out.
He says this will take 3 months to recieve these forms and after that we have to fill them out and send back .Then wait for them to send us an interview date at the consulate in Istanbul,Turkey.
Before he told us we will go for an interview within 1 month right after we are approved. Now he is saying it will take up to 1 year after we send in the packet 3 forms.
What is going on?Is he lying or is this the actual wait time after you are approved?
