Travel from India to USA close to the expiry date on the immigrant visa stamping

Hi,

My parents have a immigrant visa stamping from Mumbai embassy. The expiry date on the visa stamping is 08June2016. My question is - is it ok to travel from india so that they reach USA port of entry on 6th or 7th June?

According to USCIS web site, it should be fine (as long as they enter BEFORE the expiry date on the visa).
But I am not sure what the indian immigration officials check for in India where they are flying from and whether they are aware of these rules.

Any experience of someone who flew into USA close to the expiry date on the visa will help.

They can enter anytime before the visa expiration date without any issue. Immigration officer in India must be aware with this rule.
