Glad to have come across this great site. I am sure countless souls have been helped on this site for better guidance concerning their immigration needs. So one can only appreciate the help we all receive through this site.
As a Naturalized US Citizen I am in the process of petitioning for my wife to immigrate to the US. I have some basic questions regarding filling out the form I-130.
#1- On form I-130 Part C (information about your relative), do I put her maiden surname or her current surname which she has changed to my last name. Her country where she lives there is no official change of name to provide evidence. But she has my last name on her recent passport, so is that evidence enough that she has changed her name?
#2- Section C, question 17, Information about your relative. List Spouse and children of your relative. We have one daughter which I am going to put. But should I put my name as husband or it is not necessary.
#3- Section D, question 2, have you ever before filed petition for this person before, and if yes, where, when and result. I filed this petition through an immigration service (not attorney) in NY and I live in NJ. So should I state NY or NJ for where. As far result, it was a petition for fiance. Picture evidence was mishandled by FedEx and it was delivered late. This case was closed. So what would be an appropriate language to explain it.
Appreciate all your help.
