The CP goes well.. and you come here.

What happens if you get laid off or quite in a couple of months?

Any steps you can take to get the Green Card regardless?

I'm trying to get a handle on a worst case senario.
[1] You get your CP done(get the immegrant Visa) and come here, then things fall apart
[2] Get your EAD and AOS, and then things fall apart.

How does one still stay on the GC train if not employed?

Huh? If you enter with the Immigrant Visa, you become a Permanent Resident right at the border. That means you have a GC (first the stamp, the actual card comes later) from that point on.

So what's the problem?
