is consular processing still feasible?

with all the time it takes to do backgroup check, administrative processing, etc, is consular processing still a good way to go, compared with AOS? looks like very few people are doing it these days. Is it more advisable to do AOS instead if the person is already in the US? How can one get around the long-dragging namecheck process?

I think its wiser to AOS if you are sure of staying in the US.However,if you want to initiate the process and then plan to come back to India for a long-term then Consular could be the way.

One thing thats common to your problem and mine is whether its possible to convert AOS to Consular and vice-versa.If you get an answer to that question then your querry is solved.
