Hi
Greetings to the Immihelp community. I had my labor certification and I-140 approved (before marriage) and subsequently got married.
To proceed further on Consular processing I am told by the attorney
1) send a filing fee request to NVC for both of us and after receipt of acknowledgement to file (4 weeks )
2)send filing fee to NVC (4 weeks for receiving confirmation )
3) File packet 3 with NVC and receive Interview date from Consulate (Chennai in my case) current estimates 16 weeks.
Is this a correct sequence of events or step 2 is redundant?
On this whole sequence NVC has sent back my wife's filing fee request (Attorney claims NVC did not realize my marriage status has changed) and are redoing steps 1 and 2 for my wife now..
If these are the correct steps is there a way I or the attorney can expedite step 1-2 for my wife since it was a miss from NVC.
Thanks and Regards
