Follow To Join GC
My GC priority date is 2008. I have got my GC in 2015(EB2 ). When I applied I-485 my wife was in India. I applied "Follow To Join" consulate process for her . She got her consulate appointment in Feb 2015 through NVC. She rescheduled her interview in Jun 2015. She went to Mumbai consulate. Consulate officer couldn't issue her immigration visa because EB2 date has retrogressed to 2004 in Jun and her case is not current now.
I may be wrong , this is my understanding about "Follow To Join" case ,
Since her case is follow to join , she doesn't need to wait any extra time for a visa number to become available.
Why didn't consular officer issue her visa ? Why does she need to wait for case to become current and visa number become available ? I have sent an email to NVC to understand this situation better and also send email to consulate and waiting for their response .
I have two kids , USA Citizen , for some unavoidable reason my wife was in India with kids when my case became current in 2015 . I applied 485 for my self and follow to join for her.
