hi,
A friend of mine had opted for CP at the time of filing I140. His I140 was approved long back and the file was sent to Mumbai Consulate in 2001. (that time NVC was not involved and the PAcket III forms were needed to be sent directly to the consulate).
He decided to go ahead with the third stage just now and hence emailed Mumbai Consulate to confirm that his file is there and to get the case number.
The Consulate informed him that his file is there, and that it sent Packet III to his lawyer. but since there was no response from him for a long time, the computer generated Term 1 to his lawyer a few days ago.
1) Does this mean that the file was sent back to NVC/ USA?
2) Does this mean that his lawyer needs to do some paerwork in order to make the case active ?
3) Can someone share any experiences about this ?
4) Are there any deadlines involved in this case ?
