  • Immigrant Visa processing and marriage

    Hello guys,

I'm confused about what should i do to take my husband (to be, in the next few months with me to US).
The situation is: I applied for green card as a returning resident (had green grand before and lost it because i have stayed to much time abroad). Now i'm doing all the consular processing: my interview is sheduled for next month, as are my medical exams to take to the visa interview. (since i'm from Portugal, all this process occurs at the US Embassy in Paris).

The problem is: i have a fiancé and we are planning getting married very soon and i would like to take him with me to US right away. I know that if i wait until i have my green card to get married, then i have to make the petition for him (and from what i have heard, it takes a couple of years until all the process is done).

I was thinking if there are implications if i get married before my interview and so i can add my husband to my application? Will this option get my process delayed?

Or if i get married after the interview (after getting the visa) but before i enter the US and become a permanet resident?

Has anyone ever heard about any of these possibilities?

I really need someone to help me with this!

    Thankk you!
