  • interview date on Nov 20th

    Hi Immihelp,
My interview date has been fixed on 20th Nov in mumbai.

I got married on the 20th of Oct, and had someone file my wife's papers at the consulate soon after. They printed out a new appointment letter which has my wife's name on it is as the secondary travelling applicant (S). Does this mean that my wife has been called for the interview on the same date with me, and I would be able to bring her back with me when I return at the end of Nov (assuming all goes well)? I would presume yes, but haven't been able to call the consulate to actually verify what this really means.

Also, is there a long queue for the interview so we have to stand in line early in the morning?

All help is much appreciated, as always.

    @#%$,
have a few queries for you.

When did you submit the packet 4 for your wife. Did you submit your wife's name in your packet 3? I am going to marry in the 11th hour before the CP, hence this question.

Do you know if Mumbai Consulate would ask for PCCs from every place I have lived in, in India? I have lived in 3 different places, and it may not be possible for me to get PCC from any place other than my native place.

    Would appreciate your responses.

    Thanks in advance.

        Re: queries

        Hi Sanjay,
I submitted my wife's papers AFTER my packet 3 was submitted, that is, right after my interview was scheduled at Mumbai. I too married around the same time I got to know my interview date had been scheduled. So I had someone file my wife's packet 3 in Mumbai immediately after I got to know my interview date. We were lucky enough to be assigned the same case number for my wife, so she was called for the interview on the same day as myself. The sooner you file your wife's papers, the better it is for her as she may not have to wait to be called for a separate interview by herself.

about PCC, I had both local and PCC from the US embassy in DC. If you lived in each place for more than 6 months, you may need a PCC.
        Hope this helps.
