  • Left company after green card

    Hi,
I got my green card 2 months back and left the company "A" soon after getting the green card.I have got 3 pay stubs since i got my green card through company "A".I then got a better offer and left the company since they did not pay me the amt that was mentioned in the Offer letter they had given me during green card. The company i joined was one of their clients and i had been working for this client for sometime.
Company "A" is Threatening me that they will take legal action..Can they do any harm to me.
Actually after getting the green card i told them to pay me the amt that was mentioned in the offer letter and they Threatened me during that time.So i was not happy with them that was another reason i had left them.
    Please advice.

The company has the legal obligation to pay the salary in the offer letter. If they didn't do that, they will have a hard time with their threatened legal action.
You can always argue that you really wanted to stay with them, but their failure to pay the agreed-to salary forced you to look elsewhere.
Of course, I assume here that you can prove everything you claim. That's why it is important to have everything in writing.
In any case, to be on the safe side, you should consult with an immigration lawyer.
