Chain immigration

Mr. Popat,
Trump Administration is strongly considering to end the chain immigration and as per latest news, the president has scheduled a meeting as early as next week to start acting on it. Also dates for filling is not moving which also is concerning. Are these points really troublesome if not dangerous ?? Please share your view on this..

That's not going to be overnight.

There are plenty of steps before anything becomes law. Yes there is chance for immigration reform if bipartisan bill gets introduced and both parties agree to lose something on their part. But its way to go, you don't need to worry for 28 Jan 04 PD.

Depending on 2 or 3 week movement in March VB, you should get interview in Mar or April. You do not have to worry about anything.

There is no update on Dec numbers yet. I assume it should be out in 15 days.

My presumption is 5000+/- 200 numbers will be used by end of Feb (assumption is based on PD movement Oct till Feb). And Numerical limit for country is 4,555 as per law. However, historical data suggests NVC issued more numbers than numerical limit in past for INDIA (that more numbers depends on many factors which lead to spill over of unused numbers from other categories).

So it will be interesting to see further movement after MARCH or APRIL.

I don't think it will slow down starting March as used number for all F Category India should be around 6500+/-200 (numerical limit is 15,820 for all F India which includes 4,555 for F4 in this) at the end of Feb, so there will be still room for more number towards F4 India after March too. I am sure there will be spill over from other category but It will be interesting to see whether DoS will move forward aggressive or steady slow.

Its too early to predict something with less data yet. But as per my assumption, you could get interview in:

May (Chances if PD move lil faster than expected)
June (Most probably)
July (Chances if PD move lil slower than expected)

Today it will be released . Yesterday was sir martin luther birthday
