Missing Passport Before Interview Call

My mother has a US Visa Interview call really soon but, due to error in her passport we sent it back to fix the changes and receive the a new passport. In the worst case scenario, we may expect that the Passport may not arrive before the interview date. In this situation what should be our best course of action?

If you have documentation of sending the passport in for change bring that to the interview.

They will most likely request that you send them the passport when it arrives and hold processing until they receive it.
