  • Mumbai ACP question

    All,

My packet III for attorney certified consular processing was received by Mumbai on Monday of last week (7/24/00) no word from them yet.

I sent an email and also trying calling them but in vain.

Any estimates as to when should I expect a case number and an interview after that.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    R****

No idea. I have heard it can be anywhere from 2-3 months to get Interview.
By now you should have received case number.... Please let this board know when you receive it so others can get an estimate of how long it is taking to get a case number sent by email/mail.

Also, how did you verify that the consulate has in fact received your shipment?

          R****,
Can you post your contact info (email) so I can get in touch with you.
We are roughly in sync on this and it would help to talk.

          Cheers,
          Maharaja

            R****/Maharaja/anyone else:

I sent my packet 3 to Mumbai in the second week of July. If you are in a similar time frame please email me, and we could exchange ideas/plans/etc.

            My email is [email protected].

            Good luck.

              Guys,

I did regular CP. My packet 3 forms reached on June13. I am scheduled for AUG25. I suppose if you make it reach before the end of 2nd week of the month and you have a pretty good chance of getting an interview within 2 1/2 month.

I finally got my case number from Mumbai.

I called them this morning 900AM (IST).

Got my case # from Mumbai too; called around the same time.

Really difficult to get the number, but they were very polite and helpful.

I am not sure (did not ask) why the confirmation/case # emails were not sent though.

Since today was observed a BANDH in Mumbai we could get through (lucky us AH!).
                        Otherwise it is difficult.
Did you ask them about the interview date?
I did and I got a very vague answer saying that it might be scheduled in October if the dates PD's remain current.
My PD is Jan 1999 for EB2.

                        How about you?

                          Interviews

                          The stock answer is:

It will take 2.5 months from when your app is entered into the system.

I have sent emails to both you & Maharaja. Please keep in touch, and we'll help each other through.

                          Good luck.

                            R****, NSCwaiting,
Thanks for staying in touch. Does receiving the Case # mean assurance that the case has been accepted?

                            Regards,
                            Maharaja.

Yes. That's a key step esp. for EB3s.
