Hello everyone,
I am in urgent need for some help regarding my case. Any help would be appreciated.
So my wife had her interview and they refused her visa due to insufficient income reported in the affidavit of support, even though NVC approved it and sent it to the consulate in my country (Islamabad, Pakistan). I am a student and therefore have no income so I added my father’s income as joint contract of responsibility and filed an I-864 for myself and an I-864A for my father. The total came out to be $26,500. According to the 2017 poverty guidelines, that income is enough to support 4 household members and I reported 3 being myself, my wife, and my father. I still don’t understand why the visa got refused but I moved forward from it and asked my uncle (who doesn’t live with me) to help me out in this. His income is sufficient enough to support my wife. Now my questions are:
A. My uncle will file an I-864 as a joint sponsor, and to my understanding I would have to refill mine to add his name as joint sponsor on my I-864, will I also have to include my father’s I-864A again?
B. Second question, my uncle has sponsored people before that have become citizens now and I’m assuming he is not responsible for their support anymore, but he had a wife who he divorced 4-5 years ago and he is not sure if she became a citizen yet. Would he include her in his household on the form, and if yes is there also a field where we have to add the date of the last AOS he filed out? I checked I-864 in and out and I couldn’t find any such spot where you have to enter the date of the last AOS you filled out, but my uncle said he remembers something like that. He wants to be assured by not just me but a different source. If anyone seems to remember any such field/line number, please let me know.
I really need help in this, if someone has any knowledge, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I posted 2017 HHS poverty guidelines and it says $25,525 for 3 household members. Don't know why it still got refused.
