I read your post on Consular Processing. One section about entry as new immigrants after CP. It says that one not only has to present the visa and envelope Consulate handed over; but also a sealed BLUE ENVELOPE obtained at the medical examination.

I was interview in Montreal. I don’t have an extra blue envelope! I turned my sealed medical envelope to officials. I never got it back. I only have X-ray envelope. When I did medical, no one handed me over an extra blue envelope. Did anyone have an extra blue envelope? Do you know why some people have an extra envelope?

In Mumbai, x-ray is given in Blue envelope.

would you modify your post and make it clear that blue envelope is the X-ray so that people won't confuse in the future?

        Hello Curtis,

I just got my I-140 approval recently. My lawyer ask INS to send it directly to NVC for CP. I am still debating whether to go with CP or 485 because if I am going with CP my wife can not apply for EAD. Really appreciate if you could fill me in with the following:

        a) The time it takes for NVC to get back to you with the PACKET 3 stuff (2-4months?)
        b) The time it takes for Montreal Consular office to schedule the interview appointment
        c) How long before the actual interview date did you receive the notice from the Consular office.

        Many Thanks
        Antonio

          a) The time it takes for NVC to get back to you with the PACKET 3 stuff (2-4months?)

It varies depending on how long your I-140 information get to NVC, 1 month to 6 months determined by INS. Once NVC gets your I-140, it takes 3 weeks for NVC to mail you Package III.

          b) The time it takes for Montreal Consular office to schedule the interview appointment.

Montreal won’t schedule your interview date. NVC does. NVC reviewing package III takes about2 to 3 months.

          c) How long before the actual interview date did you receive the notice from the Consular office.

After NVC review your Package III, NVC, not Consulate, schedules a date about a month away from the notification.

            >>cannot get the report. They give you your x-rays sealed >>in a huge blue envelope and medical report in simple >>white sealed envelope. This white envelope is taken by >>the screening

It is already clearly mentioned what is there in the blue envelope.

No, it is not. Not everybody reads everything. For example, I did not read medicals in India.

Guys, lets not make an issue about envelopes.

I have not seen a site which does so much of spoon feeding regarding CP issues as this one. Lets applaud the ongoing effort.

I was trying to help to contribute to this site. Not trying to discredit it.

I was not making an issue of “envelope”. This is a good site for Indians maybe. I just told me why I think the “envelope” was not as clear as he might think because non-Indian might not read medical sections in India.

It is the administrator’s decision to take advice or not. Either way, I am okay with it.

Did you read this in the overview of consular processing?

                    ---------------------------------
When this page was initially written, it had most of the references for doing consular processing from Mumbai, INDIA. But most of the things written can also be applicable to other consular posts from INDIA and from other countries. Later many details from other consulates have been added and I strongly suggest that every one should read the whole document as there may be things which may be useful to you but are mentioned in another post's details.
                    ----------------------------------

If you followed this advice, you would not have any questions or concerns.

In either case, this envelope color is a trivial detail and you should have some common sense how to use this web site. You are trying to read it as the compiler would read the program.

                      Administrator and Curtis318,

I really appreciate the existence of this Immihelp site. This site is very helpful, just as its beautiful name implied. I also appreciate a lot what Curtis318 posted and pointed out about the blue envlope that is not applicabe to non-Indian immigrant visa applicants. Both of Administrator and Curtis318 should focus on somethings that'll be helpful for EB immigration community, instead of this detail, maybe important or maybe not. Friends, I definitely believe you guys' time is very valuable, and use it in a better manner.

                      Thanks to both of you.
