immihelp: Help needed with marriage cert

Our marriage cert got lost in the mail and all I have is a copy that was not made very well . I got it attested by the Marriage registrar in Mumbai ( they will not issue another "original" ) and even had it stamped at the U.A.E. ministry of interior when I worked in Abu Dhabi.This copy is old and a little illegible in places. What should I do ? Should I get an affidavit done that it is a true copy or get another Marriage affidavit ? What is the format ? Should it be on stamp paper ? Who should sign it and is it to be notarized ? What works best ? My interview for CP will be in Chennai probably in October.
