As I understand this, if both me and my wife are working and we don't have any dependents, I do not need to fill this form. Am I correct ?

No, that's not true.

If you are primary applicant and your spouse is going to get green card along with you, you need to provide affidavit of support for her as well.

If she is not going to get green card with you, you don't need to fill that form.
