Hi Everyone,
Good day!
My wife's dad (who is a US citizen) filed a petition for her 9 years ago during the time where her status is "Single" and then as of the moment my wife already received her I-130 which has already been approved by the US consulate, but the problem is my wife's marital status obviously has been changed to "Married" already. With this, I would just like to seek advice on the following:
1. Will her US petition be revoked given that her marital status has already changed?
2. If no, what will be the process to update the consulate about her marital status?
3. Will her petition still remains active even though her marital status has already changed?
4. Will the priority/filing date of her US petition changed?
5. In this case, can we process our document together (given that I'm already her dependent)?
6. Do we need to wait for more years to update and process again the US petition with the correct marital status? How long will it take?
Appreciate your response.
Thanks,
Jeck
