  • help in filling I864

    Hello everyone,

I am really sorry for the too many question but please i need your help

my joint sponsor sent me 3 years of the IRS tax transcripts, He files JOINTLY with his wife

    1) for joint sponsor I864 part 6 "my current individual income",should i state the adjusted gross income found in the IRS tax transcript, but this is the income of him and his wife because they file together, and they are asking about the INDIVIDUAL income.

    2) joint sponsor I864 part 6 19a : should i put the total income or the adjusted gross income ? "he files form 1040"

    3) i864A part 3 #2 "My current individual annual income" , should i mention the number found in the tax transcripts which is her and the joint sponsor income togrther,or should i ask her to tell me her individual income ?

    THANK YOU SO MUCH !!

Put his own income, i.e. the current annual salary of the current jobs he has. It's not anything found on past tax returns.

If he needs to count his wife's income in his household income to be enough, her information and income would be entered under "Person 1" (Part 6 #3-5) and she would need to file I-864A. If he does not need to count her income, then her income does not appear on the form and she does not file I-864A.

Put the exact number it says on the "total income" line (line 22) of his tax returns for those years. Do not put another number.

This is the joint sponsor's wife's I-864A, right? Again, his would be the current annual salary of her current job, not anything found on past tax returns.

On Part 4 #2, she would put the "total income" line (line 22) of her tax returns for those years. If they filed jointly those years, these should be the exact same numbers as on his I-864 Part 6 #19.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

1- I want to include his wife income too to get rid of the seperating income procedures because i dont want to bring w2s.
He gave me his IRS tax transcripts and thats it, so i was thinking that if i include his wife income too i would not need to seperate their incomes and put the current individual annual income as the total income found in the transcript for both him and his wife.

2- ok so the total income not the adjusted gross income. just to let u know , the joint sponsor is employed but his wife is self employed.
