valid H1 for another 6 months from the time of interview ??

Hi,

I heard from some one that we should have valid H1 for another 6 months from the time of CP interview. Is that true? can anyone clarify?

Our H1B visa is going to expire in Feb 2003. We are expecting our CP interview between Jan - March 2003. Can we renew our H1 now?

Hi,
This 6 month is valid for passport not for H1 I guess. The only problem I foresee is, if they check for validity of your Visa at Frakfurt. In that case as well, you can state you are going for CP interview.
I know a couple who went for Interview when their H1 had already expired.
