Thanks to Immihelp site. It is really the coolest sites I have come across. It gave a lot of insight into CP process as a whole.
Thanks to all the folks who have posted their experiences.
My interview was a success at Mumbai with AC140 on Aug 28th, 2002.
I was as tensed as any one else would be. However, everything went on smoothly. First an Indian officer asked for papers. He prepared first my file then my husband's and then my child's. Although our BC and marriage certificates were translated (they have to be notarized), you require the Xerox of original certificates in native language.
For document verification, we were called after about 2.5 hrs of wait in the line. Most of the other candidates were family based. So inputs from them were not very encouraging.
Finally when our name was called, all the documents were okay. We were made to sit again. But within 5 minutes we were called by US lady and given an oath.
Everyone should go CP way. Gets done faster than 485. Even if it means sponsoring your trip on your own to India is worth a deal.
