Question on Old H1B Petition: Can some 1 clarify pls ??

Does INS expects us to have our Old H1B petitions with us for any reasons. Can I return the Old H1B petition to the Old Employer?


Visa stamping was from my previous employer and yet to have my new visa stampted. Is it necessary to have old petition (original) with me for stamping the new one. I have received the new petition from my new employer already. Is that the new petition is the one which is always expected?


For green card processing, is it necessary to retain our old petitions? Though I have copies of my old petitionn, does INS ask for original petition for verification purpose at any point of time ??

In general whats the significance of an old petition with respect to stamping and gc processing...

You just need the new petition while doing H1 stamping.

Old petitions are generally NOT required for green card processing. But if you have them, why don't you keep them just in case?
