filing fees and demand drafts

I've my consular interview at chennai on june 25.

I am doing through the new process and I've already paid cashier checks for $260 for me and another $260 for my wife while sending the packet 3 to St.Louis.

Yesterday my in-laws in chennai received notification from consulate about the increase in application fees effective june 1-2002.

Did anyone who went through the interview already with the new process. how much did you have to pay. Did you get to subtract the fees that you sent to St.louis

You take the Receipt for the fee paid, but anywyas take the Fee with you. Why take chance ? If they say no happily get it back if not paythat one more time!

I called NVC and confirmed that we don't have to pay $260 again and the consulate knows that we have already paid it. So they would only be asking 335-260 = 75 for the visa issuance fee.

You have to pay the issuance fee of US$65.00 per person which is equivalent to Rs.3185.00 at the current rate of US$1.00 = Ind Rs.49.00. The rupee
demand draft should be from a nationalized or a foreign bank in favor of the
American Consulate General, Mumbai.
