CP not safe anymore ???

I am filing my I-140. The company's lawyer advised me that CP from India is not safe anymore in a soft economy and I shud go for AOS instead. Is this true ?
Has anyone gotten CP approved from Mumbai lately and what was their experience.
BTW , my case is a bit complictaed. I do not work for this company currently . They want to hire me after the GC . Any advise is very much appreciated .

it all depends on the nature of current job

I would strongly recommend CP if you are 101% sure that your job is secured for the next 6-7 months. However if your company is laying off people and if there is a slightest of doubt that you could be impacted then CP is not a good option as it lacks the portability in AOS.

how good is the hiring company is?

In your case, it boils down to how good the hiring company is performing and that is not in news (layoffs)
