  • Consular Processing - Merger & Acquisition

I am getting my Green Card Application done using the consular processing i.e. equivalant of AOS. I have submitted all the papers to the consulate and awaiting the interview date (probable date is June 2002). In the meantime my company has been taken over by a new company.

What additional documents do I need in this case ? Does I-140 needs to be filed again by the new company name ?

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

    mergers and acquisitions

any internal company news release or nasdaq news release that specifies about the merger should be fine... also, u can get a letter from your employer (in addition to ur usual employment letter) detailing about the merger/acquisition.. as long as u r working in a similar role, merger/acquisition should not be a problem...

I only suggest you to follow the rules and Regulations of US Consular Processing for VISA and arrange your documents of acquisition which you need at the time of Interview.Best of luck for your Interview

The same thing happened with me back in 2005 during my GC processing, what you need is just as other friends on this forum said, take the acquisition letter signed by the Company's Layer or Legal Office, Acquisition Press Release. In fact the Consul didn't ask me to present any of those docs neither pay attention at all to these docs during the interview. I just took such docs with me to the Consulate interview for just in case, in other words take them with you and if asked you can present. Good Luck
