Can some body pls help me

I changed company thrice in US.
came with Comapny A - myself and my wife had visa stamped with this company's name till april 2001.
Changed to company B - They applied H1 for me and H4 for my wife, but we never stamped our passport with this company's name as we did not go out of this country.
Chaged to Company C - They applied my H1 but not H4 for my wife.
Now when we went to India in July 2000 we got stamped from consulate with company c's name.

Can anybody tell me if my wife's status was valid and never go out of status.
I would appreciate your response in this matter.

Not a legal advice.
However, I think as long as you are in status, your wife being dependent will automatically be in status. Otherwise they would not have stamped your wife's H4 in India.
