  • CP in Mumbai on Feb 28

This is a THANK YOU note to all the people who have posted very useful information on this board. I completed my CP in Mumbai on Feb 28, with medicals at Hinduja on Feb 25. POE was JFK on March 5. Everything was very smooth - and almost precisely as described on Immihelp. Once again, thanks a bunch for taking the trouble to share your experiences!

I thought about writing up my experience - but I have nothing new to add. I will be happy to answer specific inquiries, if any.

Thank you and all the best to future CPers.

Re: did they ask for PCC?

Yes. I had one from the Indian Consulate in New York. It was accepted without any question.

Did they also ask for latest Pay stubs?

        Thanks,

          Re: Pay stubs

Nope. None of the extra stuff (pay stubs, bank statements, tax filings, etc.) was asked for.

Re: could you please add your experience details ?

Well, if you go to the CP section on www.Immihelp.com it pretty much describes what I went through in exact detail. The "interview" was a couple of minutes of inane questions ('Where do you work?', 'How long have you been in the USA?'). The KEY is to have all your paperwork in order. If you have all the forms, etc. there is absolutely no need to worry about the "interview" itself. So, relax and don't get too stressed. Overall, it was a fairly painless experience.

              All the best!

                Thanks

That feels really nice to know.
So key is to have all papers in order.
I will surely look into CP section at www.immihelp.com for more information.
I hope there is some list of documents I can get which I need to take along with me.

Thanks a lot for advice buddy, I hope everything gets done without any problems.

                  Update

I just received my Green Card in the mail. It was posted on March 20 from the INS Texas Service Center. It is just like a Driver's License with a funkier color scheme and a cool chrome back. It is valid for 10 years.
