Just Called Mumbai consulate for Interview Date ..

They received my packet 3 on Feb 19 and I was told that my case has gone for "Clearance" and that I will know the interview date by next week..

Does anyone know what this "Clearance" is and if this is done for every case. ?

I got a similar comment (the "clearance" name was not used though), however, all they said was it would take somewhere between 40 and 60 days for them to receive the results of their "inquiry", and that after that I would be notified of my appointment date.
