Hi,
My I-140 was approved and I am planning for CP, but my lawyer saying they indicated I would apply for permanent residence through adjustment of status in I-140 application and I need to file I-824 for applying CP.
But in my I-140 approval it's clearly saying as follows
"The above petition has been approved.We have sent it to the Department of State National Visa Center(NVC),32 Rochester Avenue,Portsmouth, NH.NVC process all approved immigrant visa petitios that need to consulat action.It also determines which consulat post is the appropriate consulate to complet visa processing.The NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate."
So do I really need to file I-824 ?
