  • Third Country PCC's : Any Guidelines / Experiences??

    Hi ALL:

This thread is for PCC from countries other then USA and India i.e. for people who have also stayed in countries other then these for more then 6 or 12 ( Refer Packet 3 for explanation about periods) months.

I am sure lot of people who fall in above category face this dilemma - Let here be a discussion about the procedure and format for Such PCC's. e.g. In my case , i am specifically interested to know if i need a Canadian PCC from RCMP ( fingerprint based ) or Local police station PCC ( name based) check will suffice - Packet 3 merely says it needs to be obtained from "the police authorities of that locality" - according to this , Name based check should be fine - but i am confused by the conflicting approach of other CPer's who are insisting /going for RCMP PCC's - Sharing of any personal experience by one who did it successfully with Local PCC would be of great help.

Advance Thanks to anyone participating in this discussion.

    Third Country PCC

I had Singapore PCC done in one Month's time. I had send them the fingerprint from NYPD sealed, and the details of the stays & the companies I had worked with.

      this is what i understand....

      Thanks Applyac140.

For those who may be interested , i did little more research on this , and the gist is.....if you are still living in the said third country , a name based PCC will suffice , if you lived in third country for less then one year, you do not need any PCC , if you lived there for more then one year , you need Fingerprint based PCC.

This is not an official answer , just an experience based research result.

        PCC

        travel.state.gov/reciproc...y_pick.htm

Has a list of countries. Click on the country and scroll until you see info on Police Certificates.

Usually procedure is the same for third country if you live there or not.

          Re: PCC

What if one had lived in a third country for 10months.Do they still need a PCC from that country.

            PCC

As much as i understand , PCC for less then 12mos stay in a third world country is not needed.
