  • Packet 3 received..What Next ?

I have just received packet 3 from NVC for employment based immigrant visa. What forms do I have to fill out and send to the Consulate ? As far as I know, I need to fill out the following -

    1. Form DS230 part I (For myself and dependents)
    2. Applicant statement with case number, name and signature.

Do I have to fill out I-864 and I-864A ? What other documents need to be sent to consulate ?

    I864 is for family based.
Can't help you with 'what's next' since process is changed.

Read instructions carefully and post them here.

      Please provide more info on...

      1. the new changes in procedure -- do u have to send ur filled forms with any supporting docs now to St.Louis ?
      2. Do these supporting docs (birth certificate etc.) need to be originals or copies or certified copies. please let know ?

BTW, I-864 or I-864 A is to be used only by -

Applicants for family-based immigrant visas, including orphans. (Self-petitioning widows, widowers, and battered spouses and their children are exempt from this requirement), and applicants for employment-based immigrant visas whose relative filed the immigrant visa petition or whose relative has a 5 percent or greater ownership interest in the business that filed the petition.

      Thanks in advance.

Re: Please provide more info on...

Sorry I can't help with your questions but you can help me. Any Idea if PCC is a must while returning the filled up forms or you can submit the PCC later. I need this info badly as I need to send my passports for H1 stamping which I guess takes 3 months and I am expecting packet 3 in a couple of weeks. PCC is stamped on the passport.

Just checking since the process is changed.

A guy, looks like you only want help but don't want to help others. Can you let us know the contents of Packet 3. Specifically if PCC is required. I need to send my passport for H1 stamping to Washington which takes 3 months. I will need the passport to get PCC stamped which will make me wait for 3 months.

Re: This is one of the things that I am trying to find out

My attorney confirmed today that we need PCC only at the time of interview. They will be sending the completed DS2002 PART 1 FORM along with the filing fees to ST.louis who then forward it to NVC and then gets forwarded to consulate.

Missing documents cases can happen only in family based petitions it seems and not in employed based cases like mine.
I will be sending my P3 back to attorney day after tomorrow once i receive it from them on tomorrow.
